Best Practices Event Dashboard
Following our best practices for dashboard’s principles, when setting up the following visualizations in a Power BI dashboard, we will arrange the aggregate data to be shown at the top, a time series analysis in the middle, and a widget for drilling down to the granular data at the bottom.

Step 1: First, create a KPI widget by selecting it from the visualizations menu.
Step 2: Search and select the value and goal of ‘Average Duration of Events’
Step 3: To look at those by month, we’ll select ‘Month’ as our trend
Step 4: Select a ‘Card’ widget from the visualizations menu
Step 5: Search for and select ‘Events Critical’
Step 6: Next, we’ll use a multi-row card to draw out a few culminations of data at once. Select ‘Multi-row card’
Step 7: In the ‘Event Counts’ folder, select ‘Events Closed’
Step 8: Select ‘Event Total’
Step 9: Select ‘Percentage of events closed’
Step 10: Create a KPI by selecting it from the visualizations menu. Search for and select the value and goal of ‘Percentage of Events Critical’
Step 11: Add ‘Quarter of Year’ to the widget
Step 12: Select a ‘Clustered Column’ widget and search for and select the ‘Events Total’ count
Step 13: Since this is our time series element of the dashboard, we’ll look at it by month. Search for and select the calendar date ‘Month’. Remember that if you want a time series that can be manipulated while in the dashboard, you can add a slicer
Step 14: Lastly, we’ll add a table for the granular view. Select ‘Table’ from the visualizations menu
Step 15: Add all the items under the ‘Classifications’ folder
Step 16: Add ‘MC Relations’ and you’re finished with the dashboard.
