How to Build an Event and Availability Management Dashboard for Batch Analytics in PowerBI


In this article we will use create an event and availability management dashboard using measures and time series analysis in expressive widgets.

Step 1: First, open up a new worksheet in Power BI

Card

Step 2: Select a ‘Card’ widget

Step 3: Search for and select ‘Runs Total’

Card

Step 4: Search for and select ‘Average Run Time in Minutes’ and make it a card

Card

Step 5: Search for and select ‘Percentage of runs completed successfully’ as your third and final card widget

Line and stacked column chart

Step 6: Create a line and stacked column chart, and click and drag ‘Percentage of Runs Completed Successfully; to your line values for that graph

Step 7: As your count, select ‘Runs Total’

Step 8: Finally, as this is our time series analysis, we will look this by month

TreeMap

Step 9: Now, you can make a tree map. Begin by selecting it from the visualizations menu

Step 10: Again, we will use the ‘Runs Total’ count

Step 11: Select ‘Rerun Counter’

Step 12: Lastly, we’ll make a table. Select it from the visualizations menu

Step 13: Add ‘Job Name’ by searching and selecting it in the meta data search tab

Step 14: Add ‘Ended Status’ and you’re all finished
